To celebrate today’s 50th Anniversary of the Moon landing, we’ve been having fun with this brilliant Astronomy for Kids factual book, which is crammed with space-related activities for children of all ages. Engaging, concise and informative, I really like the variety of experiments: some are quick and simple; others are more detailed, requiring observation over a period of time; and there are some that need to be undertaken at certain times of the year. We’ve had loads of fun measuring the speed of light using chocolate (that was always going to be a winner in our house!), making different types of crystals and recreating Mars’ distinctive colour. Next up is looking for life on Mars…

A big thank you to the lovely Megan at Quarto Kids for our gifted copy – this is definitely going to provide plenty of entertainment over the (oh-so-long) school holidays…
