I don’t often share ’grown up’ reads on the blog, but I felt that this very much deserved a share.

After a rubbish couple of weeks with very little reading going on, I treated myself to Cathy Rentzenbrink’s superb book and couldn’t put it down. If, like me, you are one of those people who can’t imagine your life without books in it, can define periods of your life by the books that you’ve read, regularly suffer from book hangovers and often find yourself recommending books to everyone you meet (whether the recommendations are solicited or not ?‍♀️?‍♀️), then this is hands down the book for you. Through sharing her own experience, Cathy explores the impact that books can have on life and she offers up plenty of her favourite recommendations for you to either add to your TBR, or indeed read again if you already have them on your bookshelves. It’s a compelling and brilliantly-written read: honest, funny, at times a little sad but ultimately joyous. It’s one great big hug of a book and exactly what the doctor ordered.
